Notes:

  • Leava died in 1863 while Stephen was away in the Army. 
  • John and Josephine were taken to their grandparents to live: Joseph and Elizabeth Anderson and they appear with the Anderson’s on the 1870 Census in Kansas.
  • Elizabeth and Lucy were taken in by the Keener families. 
  • Elizabeth with the Frances and her son Richard
  • Lucy with the Thomas and Caroline Keener. 
  • They are listed on the 1870 Census as Keeping House.
  • It is unknown what became of Mary.
  • Also, I am unable to find whether Josephine died or divorced Peter Hatcher, as he remarried 18 Nov 1888.
