How to clean a Dyson Stick Vacuum. Why would you need to clean it? Well, the other day I was using my Dyson stick vacuum when I smelled this terrible odor. I mean, it was awful!
I immediately emptied the dust bin and went back to vacuuming. But, the odor was still there. Further investigation indicated that recently someone had vacuumed up liquid, which mixed with dirt, which created a smelly sludge. Yuck! (It might have been me?!?)
Some Safety Tips
A special note; do not use this vacuum if the floor is wet! Even though it isn’t plugged in, if has no way to thoroughly dry out. Also, my Dyson is way out of warranty, so I had no issues to worry about. If yours is under warranty, please contact Dyson for assistance.
Once I began trying to clean all of the sludge off, I quickly discovered that this was going to turn into a major cleaning effort. Especially since I had absolutely no idea how to clean my Dyson stick vacuum, so of course, I googled it.
Thank goodness there were a few posts on how to clean the Dyson stick vacuum, so I set to work dismantling my vacuum. The lovely thing about this particular vacuum is that you can completely dismantle it, clean it, and put it back together!
The end result, a “like new” freshly cleaned vacuum.
